Explaining the value behind premium in-the-ear hearing technology
Film and digital direct mail campaign for Phonak, created to help audiologists understand the craftsmanship, precision, and human impact behind Phonak’s in-the-ear (ITE) hearing aids.
The brief was to justify the premium price point of Phonak’s ITEs by showing exactly what goes into making them. The film was built around interviews with the people involved in their creation, revealing the level of skill, care, and technical expertise required at every stage of the process.
One of the most powerful moments came from a member of the production team who also wore the devices himself, describing how he had heard sounds for the first time in over 30 years. This human insight transformed what could have been a purely technical story into an empathetic one.
I wrote and directed the film and oversaw its integration into a video-led direct mail pack sent to audiologists, combining emotional storytelling with clear product rationale to support recommendation and uptake in a B2B healthcare setting.
