A light-hearted look at a very long lie-down.
This short animated social film was created as part of a broader programme of always-on social content for Bensons for Beds.
The idea was simple and deliberately playful: to animate the history of the bed, charting how something so ordinary, and so essential, has evolved over time. Rather than pushing product, the film focused on entertainment, shareability and brand warmth, using animation and storytelling to spark interest and build affinity.
The piece was designed specifically for social channels, prioritising pace, visual charm and clarity of idea over hard selling. It sat alongside a wider range of social video content produced during my time working on the brand, helping Bensons show up in feeds with personality rather than just promotions.
Viewed now, it’s very much of its time, but it remains a solid example of brand-led animation, simple storytelling and craft-led film work created for social platforms.
I was responsible for the concept, copy and creative direction, working closely with animators to bring the idea to life in a clean, accessible visual style.
