Selling the moments that make a holiday memorable

This rebranding project for Welcome Cottages focused on refreshing the brand’s catalogue and website presence to better reflect the experience of holidaying with them, not just the properties themselves.

The existing materials were clear and functional, but the brand wanted to feel more inviting, emotional and dynamic, capturing all the small moments and activities that turn a cottage break into a great holiday: long walks, family time, local food, fresh air and switching off.

The solution was to move away from short, purely descriptive headlines and instead use longer, more expressive copy that could tell a story and set a scene. This was supported by more engaging, lifestyle-led photography that showed people doing things — not just standing in nice spaces.

I worked across copywriting, art direction and overall brand tone, ensuring the catalogues and website felt more human, more aspirational and more in tune with how people actually choose their holidays. The result was a brand expression that felt warmer, more playful and far more emotionally engaging — helping Welcome Cottages sell not just places to stay, but memories waiting to be made.
